Home Personal Training
Everyone has different reasons for using a Personal Trainer and it depends on your circumstances. Some people view a Personal Trainer as a friend that can coach them to initiate changes in their lifestyle. These changes may be necessary for health or simply the desire for a better quality of life. For example, to overcome obesity, improve your posture, look and feel younger or improve your golf fitness and performance.
Others may view a series of personal training appointments as a fitness course in which they can learn how to improve their results in the gym or in a particular sport. Finally, some people may feel the need for help in maintaining changes in their lifestyle. For example, the Personal Trainer becomes a longer term coach to safely ensure larger weight losses over an extended period of time or a sports coach to help an athlete stay at the top of their game.
What does a Personal Trainer appointment involve ?
Unlike a gym visit every Personal Trainer appointment is directly tailored to your needs and totally focused on your fitness goals. It is time reserved just for you. You can choose the location, whether it be on the beach, in a park, at your home or at my home. I provide you with tailored and adaptive exercise programs. They can change with every appointment (if necessary) based on your feedback and a range of objective measures (e.g. fat percentage, waist size).
Every exercise program consists of functional exercises using specialised fitness equipment that improves one or more of the following: muscular strength and endurance, body toning, cardiovascular efficiency, flexibility, balance, body alignment (e.g. proprioception) and posture.
During and between appointments I provide ongoing motivation and lifestyle advice to meet your goals faster by implementing changes in your daily life (e.g. at home fitness exercises, diet changes).
Is a Personal Trainer more expensive than joining a gym ?
Personal training can not be compared to gym membership. Gym membership is intended to be an ongoing and open ended activity without an end date. Personal training is more like a project with specific goals and a specific timeframe.
It’s value lies in achieving the results you want for a fixed cost in a specific length of time using state of the art knowledge, equipment and one on one full time Personal Trainer coaching. On completion you will have the knowledge to maintain your results for the rest of your life using whatever fitness methods you chose to use (e.g. having a more active lifestyle or joining a gym).
