Massage therapy

Massage therapy is one of the oldest forms of touch therapy, using a system of stroking, pressing and kneading different areas of the body to relieve pain, relax and stimulate the body. Body massage works on the muscles, tendons and ligaments to improve the tone, the circulatory system to improve blood flow and the lymphatic system to improve the elimination of waste. Touch is a very important factor in all our lives as it promotes a feeling of well being and massage therapy is particularly effective.

Although a single body massage is very beneficial the cumulative benefits of a course of massage therapy is most effective. Regular massage therapy can strengthen and tone the entire body mechanism, and so help prevent unnecessary strains and injuries that might occur due to excess tension or structural weaknesses.

Massage therapy can be either stimulating or calming depending upon your requirements. Some of the benefits of massage therapy include its ability to relax, soothe, heal, reassure, ease tension or stiffness or pain, improve breathing or circulation and enhance well being.
